New translation: 2025-09-15 The chapel of Flaine is finally going to be restored

Good news arrived on the web on September 1st: the ecumenical chapel of Flaine is one of the 102 laureates 2025 of the “mission Patrimoine” fundation, led by Stéphane Berne. As such, it will benefit from a portion of the 180 million euros generated by the associated lottery. After years of continuous degradation, a quality restoration of this emblematic monument of Flaine can thus be carried out. Beyond the repair of the roof, essential for the preservation of the building, it is the architectural ensemble that will regain its original state. This happy outcome is largely due to the perseverance of the “Syndicat Intercommunal de Flaine” (SIF) in seeking external financial support. Obviously, if the SIF had the resources related to the windfall generated by tourism activity in Flaine, in particular the taxes on some Flaine ski lifts collected by the municipality of Arâches and not transferred to the SIF, the chapel would never have found itself in the state it is today. However, today we are only looking forward to the work starting...
